Accessibility Statement
A more considered home begins with a more welcoming experience. We believe everyone should be able to explore beautiful furniture, discover thoughtful details, and shop with confidence.
Made for Everyone
Beautiful design should invite people in, never stand in their way.
At Mirestead, accessibility is part of how we think about a welcoming shopping experience. Our goal is to make our website understandable, navigable, and useful to the widest possible range of customers.
We recognize that visitors interact with websites in different ways. Some use keyboards rather than a mouse. Others rely on screen readers, magnification, voice control, assistive technology, or accessibility settings built into their devices.
We are committed to reviewing opportunities to improve our website and making practical changes that support a more inclusive experience. This includes how customers discover furniture, explore product information, understand prices, and complete purchases.
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. As our website evolves, we aim to consider accessibility throughout the design, content, and shopping experience.
Designed for Access
Four guiding principles inform the improvements we aim to make across the Mirestead shopping experience.
Perceivable
Information should be available in ways customers can recognize and understand, including meaningful text alternatives and readable presentation.
Operable
Navigation and interactive controls should support different input methods, including keyboard access where applicable.
Understandable
Clear descriptions, predictable navigation, helpful labels, and straightforward language should make shopping easier.
Compatible
Website functionality should be designed with commonly used browsers, devices, and assistive technologies in mind.
Our Approach
We aim to make accessibility a meaningful part of how we develop and maintain our online store. Our areas of focus include the following:
-
01
Clear Website Navigation Supporting a logical page structure, descriptive links, and more predictable movement between collections, products, and information pages.
-
02
Readable Product Information Improving the clarity of product titles, descriptions, measurements, prices, and other details customers need when making decisions.
-
03
Accessible Visual Presentation Considering text contrast, scalable content, image descriptions, and layouts that adapt to different devices and screen sizes.
-
04
Usable Shopping Controls Reviewing forms, product options, cart interactions, and checkout pathways for opportunities to reduce accessibility barriers.
-
05
Respect for User Preferences Considering browser zoom, mobile accessibility settings, reduced-motion preferences, and alternative ways to access information.
Standards & Progress
Our Reference Standards
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, commonly known as WCAG, provide internationally recognized guidance for making websites more accessible.
Mirestead looks to WCAG principles, including the WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria, as a reference for ongoing accessibility improvements. This is an improvement goal rather than a declaration that every page or feature currently meets those criteria.
We recognize that digital accessibility involves continued attention as website technologies, content, customer needs, and accessibility practices change.
We do not claim that our website has received independent accessibility certification or that every component is fully conformant. We aim to identify and address barriers as they become known.
Certain parts of our website may involve third-party services, such as payment processing, embedded content, or shopping applications. Although we may not control every aspect of these services, we recognize that they can influence the overall customer experience. We welcome reports about accessibility issues involving these features and will review available options for assistance or improvement.
